Chris Doak (64) swoops to

conquer at Barassie

A brilliant final round of 64 enabled former Northern Open champion Chris Doak from Gourock to swoop to conquer in the Tartan Tour's WaterAid Order of Merit 36-hole pro-am at Kilmarnock Barassie Golf Club today.

Doak had opened the two-day event with a 69, which put him one off the pace being set by Jason McCreadie (Buchanan Castle) and Cawder's Chris Kelly.

But Doak, picture right by Cal Carson Golf Agency (all rights reserved), showed them a clean pair of heels down the home straight to finish two shots ahead of the field on 11-under-par 133.

That earned him the top prize of £2,691.78.

McCreadie had a 67 for 135 to finish runner-up and collect £2,153.

David Orr (East Renfrewshire) came third on 137 with 69 and 68 for £1,615 and Euan Little (Co Tipperary) had his highest ever finish in a PGA Scottish Region event with a 69 and 72 for fourth place on 141, which earned him £1,209.
