TOM (97) IN THE SCOTTISH ALLIANCE
CHAMPIONSHIP FIELD AT MONIFIETH

Kings Acre tour professional Andrew Oldcorn, after his fifth place finish with a 10-under-par total over four rounds on the European Challenge Tour in France on Sunday, will start favourite to win the Scottish Alliance championship over 54 holes at Monifieth and Arbroath over the next three days (Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday).
New professional Duncan Stewart (Grantown on Spey), soon to be heading for Spain and Stage 2 of the European Tour Qualifying School process, and Bryan Fotheringham (Forres), a +3 amateur, are two whose scores should give the North a chance of winning the team title.
But perhaps THE man of the tournament is 97-year-old Tom Galloway (Dunfermline), who keeps threatening that this will be his last Alliance championship - but here he is again for another year. Tom starts his bid for the senior title at 12.06 onTuesday at the Monifieth course.
