JAMIESON FAILS TO PASS US PGA TOUR Q TEST

Glasgow's Scott Jamieson, after a successful rookie season on the NGA Hooters Tour, failed to survive the rain-delayed US PGA Tour Qualifying School Stage 1 event at Florence Golf Club, South Carolina.
Scott had scores of 69, 70, 71 and 72 for a two-over-par total of 282 over the par-70 course. He finished joint 52nd after bogeying three of the last four holes.
The top 31 players with totals of three-under-par 277 or better qualified for Stage 2.
Edinburgh-born Welsh Walker Cup player Rhys Davies failed by one shot with 74, 63, 70 and 71 for two-under-par 278 and 32nd place.
Mike Welsh was the leading Stage 2 qualifier at the Florence venue with scores of 65, 66, 67 and 67 for 15-under-par 265.
