SCOTS BOYS RECOVER IN SINGLES TO BEAT WALES
Scotland and England both trailed after the opening morning foursomes in the boys' home internationals at Machynys Peninsula in South Wales.
But at the end of the day Scotland had beaten Wales 10 1/2-4 1/2 and England had beaten Ireland 8-7.
The Welsh jumped into a 3 1/2-1 1/2 foursomes lead but were outclassed in the singles. Scotland won nine of the 10.
Ireland led England 3-2 but the singles here were more evenly contested. The English managed to take them 6-4 to cancel out the 1pt lunchtime deficit.

FOURSOMES (1 1/2-3 1/2)
J Byrne & F Fotheringham bt J Green & G Evans 4 and 3.
A Campbell & N Henderson lost to J Howie & J Vickery 5 and 3.
P Ferrier & C Gaittens lost to B Enoch & L Evans 1 hole
S Fraser & S McLaren halved with R Pugh & R McLister.
P Shields & M Stewart lost to L Jackson & R Harston 3 and 1.
