SCOTLAND BOYS LOSE TO IRELAND AS
ENGLAND WALLOP WELSH

Defending champions Scotland were beaten 9 1/2-5 1/2 by Ireland on the second day of the boys' home internationals at the Machynys Peninsula.
In the other match, England showed no mercy on Wales, beating them 14 1/2-1/2, taking the singles 10-0.
Scotland play England tomorrow.

Singles: Byrne lost to Cutler 5 and 3, Campbell lost to Healy 3 and 2, N Henderson lost to Lennox 1 hole, Fotheringham lost to McNamara 2 and 1, Ferrier lost to C Fairweather 2 and 1, Wallace bt McGrane 4 and 2, Fraser bt McGee 1 hole, McLaren halved with Martin, Shields lost to Dunbar 3 and 1, Stewart bt Boyd 5 and 3 (3 1/2-6 1/2).
