Allied Surveyors Scottish amateur championship

JOHN GALLAGHER IS NEW SCOTTISH
CHAMPION: 4 & 3 WINNER
AGAINST KEIR McNICOLL

Keir McNicoll won the third with a birdie 3 to go one up.
John Gallagher squared with a birdie at the fourth.
Gallagher went one up with a par at the fifth.
McNicoll squared the match with a birdie at the ninth.
Gallagher regained one-hole lead by winning the 10th with a par.
Gallagher went two up with a par at the 13th.
Gallagher went three up with a birdie at the 14th.
Gallagher went four up with a birdie at the 16th.

At the end of the first round, John Gallagher (Swanston New) was four up on Keir McNicoll (Carnoustie).

Gallagher went five up at the 19th.
McNicoll birdied the 20th to get back to four down.
Gallagher birdied the 21st to go five up again.
McNicoll won the 24th to be four down again.
Gallagher won the 25th and 26th with pars to go six up.
McNicoll won the 28th and 28th to cut the lead to four holes.
Gallagher won the 31st to go five up.
McNicoll won the 32nd with a birdie to get it back to four down.
A half at the 33rd made Gallagher the champion by 4 and 3.

++In the 36-hole English men's amateur championship final at Royal St George's, Daniel Willett beat Matthew Cryer 3 and 2.
