SIX AMATEURS IN SCOTTISH CHALLENGE FIELD

Six amateurs - including Walker Cup man Lloyd Saltman from Craigielaw - have accepted invitations to play alongside the tour professionals in next week's Scottish Challenge tournament at Cardrona Hotel & Golf Resort, near Peebles.
They are Duncan Stewart (Grantown on Spey), Callum Macaulay (Tulliallan), Scott Henry (Cardross), Kevin McAlpine (Alyth) and Keir McNicoll (Carnoustie).
STEWART CHANGES PLANS
Stewart, who spent a successful four golfing years at Jacksonville University, Florida, has returned from the States because funding for a bid to win a US PGA Tour player's card has fallen through.
He now plans to tackle the European Tour School process and will be in the field for the First Stage qualifier at Chart Hills, Kent.
