THOMSON AND PARK HEAD QUALIFIERS FOR
GLENEAGLES SCOTTISH PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

A total of 32 players came through the qualifying round at Crieff Golf Club today for the Gleneagles Scottish PGA championship from August 2 to 5.
They were headed by Ed Thomson (Largs) and David Park (Wishaw) on three-under-par 68.
Ed came home in 31, covering the last 11 holes in five under par with birdies at the eighth, ninth, 16th, 17th and 18th. David's halves were 35 and 33.
The limit mark for qualifying was 74 but not everyone with that figure advanced to the championship. A card countback reduced the 12 players on 74 to six qualifiers and five non-qualifiers.
