SCOT IN R&A’S TOP 50
WORLD RANKINGS

Richie Ramsay’s sudden decision to turn professional has left Scotland with only one player in the top 50 of the R&A World Amateur Golf Rankings.
Lloyd Saltman (pictured right) is No 3 in this week’s updated list. The Craigielaw man is the only non-American in the top six.
To find the next Scot you have to go down to 51st place for Callum Macaulay of Tulliallan.
James Byrne from Banchory, winner of the Scottish Under-18 boys’ stroke-play title last week, is third-best Scot in 57th place, followed by Wallace Booth (Comrie) at No 72 and Scottish double champion Kevin McAlpine (Alyth).
Five Scots in the world’s top 100 male amateurs that’s our sum total.
