WOLSTENHOLME'S GOOD START TO EURO
MID-AMATEUR TITLE DEFENCE.

Title-holder Gary Wolstenholme (Kilworth Springs) made a good start to his defence of the European men's mid-amateur championship at Domaine Imperial Club on the shores of Lake Geneva, Switzerland today.
Over a Pete Dye-designed par-72 lay-out, Walker Cup veteran Wolstenholme shared a one-stroke lead with Frenchman Francois Watter on 72.
The big international field included one Scot, James Deas, who had an 86.
