TOP 20 IN LOW-SCORING FUTURES MAJOR

Vikki Laing had a one-under-par 71 but so high was the standard of scoring that she will start the second day in joint 20th place in the Michelop Ultra Players' Championship, the only major event of the US Futures Tour.
Vikki hbad halves of 36 and 35 to be four shots behind joint leaders and Americans, Beth Bauer from Florida and Liz Janangelo, the former US Curtis Cup player from West Hartford, Connecticut.
South Wales amateur Natasha Morgan had a 74 to be in joint 81st place while Londoner Polly Willett was sharing 106th place after a 75.
