MELISSA AND HENNY SHARE ST RULE TROPHY LEAD

Henrietta Brockway, only 17 years old, from Yeovil joined 19-year-old Melissa Reid from Chevin Derby in the lead after the second round of the St Rule Trophy over the Old Course, St Andrews today.

Henny opened with with a 73 over the New Course on Saturday but went seven-under-par over the Old Course with a 68 for a nine-under-par 36-hole tally of 141.

Melissa, winner of the Helen Holm Scottish open stroke-play at Troon for the past two years, had set the pace with a 69 over the New Course and a three-under-par 72 over the Old Course enabled her to

rub shoulders with another teenager in the pole position.

With one more round to go over the Old Course today, Melissa and Henny are three shots clear of Rachel Bell (Ganton) and Germany's Stephanie Doering.

Scotland's leading performance at this stage was 16-year-old Kelsey MacDonald (Nairn Dunbar) who has scored 74 and 72 for a share fifth place on 146.
