NEW LEADERS AS SCOTS FAIL TO IMPROVE
AT CELTIC MANOR WELSH OPEN

It was all change at the top in the third round of the Celtic Manor Wales Open at Newport - but none of the Scots in the vicinity at the start of the third day were able to make an impression.
Welshman Bradley Dredge and Germany's Martin Kaymer lead the field into the last round on 10-under-par 197 over a par-69 course which seems far too short by European Tour standards. Dredge and Kaymer both had five-under-par 65s today.
They lead by one shot from South African Richard Sterne (64-198) and the toppled leader, Mads Vibe-Hastrup (Denmarki) who had a 68 for 198.
Stephen Gallagher, Steven O'Hara and Gary Orr all broke 70 but ended up sharing ninth sport on 200.
Andrew Coltart and Alastair Forsyth are joint 15th on 201.
Paul Lawrie, disappointingly, sank to a two-over-par 71 with a round which included only one birdie over a course which has yielded so many. The Aberdonian is sharing 38th place on 204 after bogeys at the second, 12th and 14th.
