WEDNESDAY WOE FOR SCOTS ON PGA
EUROPRO TOUR EVENT AT NORWICH

Irish eyes might have been smiling - Colm Moriarty shot a 70 to extend his overnight lead to five strokes - but Wednesday was a day of woe for the majority of the Scots in the field for this week's PGA EuroPro Tour event, the Wensum Valley International Open at Wensum Valley Golf Club, Norwich.
Moriarty is the only competitor that has not struggled during the opening two rounds as many players have found the windy conditions and hard, dry course tough to handle.
.Only three Scots had scores of 149 or better to qualify for the third and final round.
They were Jay Taylor in joint sixth place on 145 with scores of 73 and 72 despite a double bogey 6 at the ninth, Elliot Saltman from Dalkeith in a share of 11th place on 146 with a pair of 73s, in which he had a great four under par run from the 13th, having been five over par for the round after nine holes.
Stephen Lamb from Broomieknowe is the only other Scot still playing after scores of 72 and 76 for 148.
Paul Doherty (151), Graham Gordon (152), Jack Doherty (154), Paul Cormack (154), Alasdair Hay (156), Christopher Farr (159), Graeme Brown (159) and Neil Mitchell (160) all failed to make it.
First prize is £10,000 but it looks a question of "Who's going to be second?" to Irishman Moriarity.
