SABBATINI BEATS FURYK, LANGER
IN CROWNE PLAZA PLAY-OFF

South African Rory Sabbatini from Zambia won the US PGA Tour's Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial Country Club, Fort Worth in Texas on Sunday.
Sabbatini beat Jim Furyk and Bernhard Langer by holing a 15ft birdie putt at the first hole of the three-way play-off after they had tied on 266.
At 49, Langer was attempting to become the oldest winner in the tournament’s history. The German's last win in the United States was his 1993 Masters triumph, while his last victory on the European Tour came at the end of the 2002 season in the Volvo Masters.
"Even though I would have loved to have won, I'm very encouraged because this is the best I've played in a long time," Langer said. "There is a lot of stuff which goes through your mind when you are walking out there, but I had a lot of opportunities, which is encouraging.”
Put your money on Langer now to clean up when he has his 50th birthday and makes his debut on the US Champions (Seniors) Tour.
