FEW DOLLARS MORE FOR SCOTT JAMIESON

Gareth Maybin from Ballyclare, Northern Ireland and Glasgow’s Scott Jamieson finished joint 15th and tied 48th respectively in the NGA Hooters Tour event, the Touchstone Energy Open which ended today (Sunday) at Brook Valley Country Club, Greenville in North Carolina.
Maybin had scores of 72, 69, 72 and 70 for a five-under-par total of 283 and boosted his earnings on the satellite tour this season by $2,714 to $30,863 from eight events in which he has made the cut each time.
Rookie pro Jamieson, who turned pro only last November after winning the Scottish Golf Union Order of Merit, had scores of 73, 71, 75 and 71 for a total of 290. His cash reward was $1,271 giving him a total of $12,508 from six events. He has missed only one cut.
At the top of the leaderboard, Tommy Biershenk from South Carolina scored his second Hooters Tour win in three weeks, worth $33,566, with a par figure at the first play-off hole against Martin Flores from Texas. Biershenk and Flores had tied on 14-under-par 274. Flores’ consolation reward amounted to $16,751.
