CHRIS DOAK PULLS OFF TARTAN TOUR WEEKEND
DOUBLE AT PORTPATRICK AND BISHOPBRIGGS

Former Northern Open champion Chris Doak scored a double whammy on the Tartan Tour at the weekend.
On Saturday he equalled the professional course record of seven-under-par 63 in winning the Portpatrick Golf Club charity pro-am from Dean Robertson (64).
And on Sunday, Chris picked up another £856 prize figuring in a triple joint tie for first place in the Bishopbriggs pro-am.
The unattached Doak, Paul McKechnie (Braid Hills) and Kenny Monaghan (Bothwell Castle) all hit the four-under-par 67 mark.
They finished a shot ahead of David Park (Wishaw), Bob Arnott (Bishopbriggs Golf Range), Dean Robertson (Czech Design), Sam Cairns (Westerwood) and Kenny Hutton (Downfield).
Craig Ronald (Carluke) lead three Bishopbriggs Golf Club members – Mark Liddell (5), Fraser Stewart (12) and Duncan McKellar (18) – to victory in the team event with a net score of 56. They won with a better net inward half of 26 than other home club trio led by Dean Robertson.
