GEORGE MURRAY FADES IN FINAL
ROUND OF CHALLENGE TOUR
EVENT AT TOULOUSE

George Murray’s bid for a maiden professional victory at the European Challenge Tour’s A.G.F. Allianz Golf Open de Toulouse disintegrated with a disappointing final round performance at the Golf de Toulouse-Seilh today.
The 2004 Scottish Amateur champion from Anstruehr began the final round in a tie for second place, just one off the lead, but never fully recovered from bogeys at the first and fourth holes as he stumbled to a last round of one-over-par 73 to finish on nine under for the tournament and a tie for seventh place.
Murray’s nine under total was a full eight strokes behind winner Joost Luiten of Holland, who produced a marvellous final round of eight under par 64 to pip overnight leader Nicolas Vanhootegem of Belgium to victory by one stroke on 17-under-par 271.
Andrew McArthur, the only other Scot to survive the halfway cut had, like Murray, a disappointing final round as he faded to a five over 77 to finish the week on two under 286.
