GWEN PUTTS OUT THE TOP SEED IN
P&K COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP

Gwen Lambie (Dunkeld & Birnham) “putted like a demon” to knocked out the No 1 seed, Jacqueline Sneddon (Alyth) in this afternoon’s quarter-finals of the Perth & Kinross women’s county golf championship at Kinross Golf Club.
Gwen, the No 9 qualifier, toppled Jacqueline by 2 and 1 with her putting making the decisive difference. In Sunday morning’s semi-finals Gwen will play Alexandra Bushby (Strathmore), a 4 and 3 winner over 15-year-old Annabel Niven (Crieff) in the quarter-finals.
The other semi-final will feature twice champion Jane Yellowlees (Murrayshall) against the No 2 seed, Emily Ogilvy (Auchterarder).
Janye beat Emma Napper (Craigie Hill) 4 and 3 in the quarter-finals while Emily had a 6 and 5 win over Blairgowrie’s Sal Shepherd.
