JONATHAN KING WINS WEST OF
SCOTLAND OPEN AT CAWDER
WITH A SUNDAY SURGE

Glasgow's Jonathan King, joint sixth at the halfway stage, came with a Sunday surge to win the McKinnon Wood West of Scotland Open men's championship at Cawder Golf Club today.
King added rounds of 66 and 68 over the par-70 Cawder course for a final total of six-under-par 274.
He won by two shots from three players who shared second place - halfway leader Scott Borrowman (Dollar), Mathew Clark (Kilmacolm) who had been second with 36 holes to go and leader with four holes to play, andAndrew Lynch (Glenbervie).
Borrowman finished with rounds of 69 and 74 for four-under 276. He bogeyed the 15th in his last round but birdied the short 16th from 5ft. A hooked tee shot at the last cost him a bogey and also clear second place behind King.
Clark was leading the field until he ran up a triple bogey 7 with a lost ball at the dogleg 15th. He then finished with three 3s, including a birdie at the 17th.
Lynch climbed up the leaderboard with scores of 66 and 69 on Sunday.
