LESLEY COMPLETES AYRSHIRE COUNTY
TITLE HAT-TRICK AT TROON PORTLAND
Lesley Hendry (Largs Routenburn) has become Ayrshire women's county champion for the third year in a row. In today's semi-finals over the Troon Portland links, Lesley first beat the top seed, Audrey Thompson (Loudoun) by two holes. Then Lesley, the No 4 qualifier, beat the No 10 qualifier, Morag McPherson (Troon Ladies) by 6 and 5 in the final.
Miss Hendry gave a quality display of golf in the final, highlighting her performance with an eagle and a birdie.
To get to the final, Morag beat the No 14 qualifier, Jennifer Linklater (Largs) by 3 and 2.
