FRANKIE MAKES HIS MOVE
AT PHILIPPINE OPEN

Local hero Frankie Minoza inched closer to his second Philippine Open title when he fired a five-under-par 67 for the third round lead on Saturday.
After a nine-under-par 207 total, Minoza took a one-stroke advantage over overnight leader Liang Wen-chong of China who struck a 71 at the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club, Manila.
Thanks to a late birdie on the 18th hole, Thailand’s Prayad Marksaeng, who also fired an eagle at the par five 14th hole, rose to lone third place after a 69 while India’s Gurbaaz Mann enjoyed a solid round in fourth place after a 68 at the US$300,000 event.
Ross Bain is the leading Scot of the two who qualified for the last two rounds. Bain had a 74 for 219 and is in joint 28th place.
Another ex-pat, Simon Dunn, is sharing 56th place on 222 after a 73.
