MALAYSIAN MASTERS

HUME FINISHES WITH A 66 AND GRABS
SECOND PLACE IN MALAYSIAN MASTERS

Barry Hume from Glasgow finished runner-up in the Malaysian Masters today after a great last round of six-under-par 66 at the Pulai Springs Resort course in Johor.
Barry, pictured right, ran up a bogey 6 at the first but then covered the remaining holes in six under par with birdies at the fifth, eighth, ninth, 10th, 11th, 12th and 17th in halves of 34 and 32.
Hume's four-round aggregate of 21-under-par 267 almost forced a play-off with the winner of the $47,550 first prize, South African Anton Haig.
Haign finished on 266 after closing with a 68. He birdied the last two holes.
India's Jyoti Randhawa who tied for third place on 268 with England's Yasin Ali bogeyed the 17th and 18th when in a winning position.
Hume will be rueing the fact that he ran up double bogey 5s at the short 13th in both the first and second rounds. Two pars at these holes and he would have gone on to win the Malaysian Masters.
The standard of play in the tournament was very high with the leading 32 players scoring 10 under par or better.
Hume has won $51,333 from nine events on the Asian Tour.
