STIRLING UNIVERSITY UP WITH THE BIG BOYS FROM AMERICA
- AND GORDON YATES LEADS

INDIVIDUAL EVENT

Stirling University did very well at the end of
first day in the International Collegiate Championship to separate the “big boys” from America and be lying second in the 10-team contest over the Torrance Course at St Andrews Bay Golf Resort.
With one round to go on Sunday, North Carolina lead with a team total of 568 - only three strokes ahead of Stirling.
Wake Forest, bidding to repeat their win in the inaugural tournament of 2002, are lying third on 576, one shot ahead of Texas Tech.
Gordon Yates (Stirling), pictured right, leads the individual event with a magnificent nine-under-par total of 135 (67-68).
He is three shots clear of Dustin Johnson (Coastal Carolina) (70-68) with Oscar Floren (Texas Tech third on 139.
