LEE RHIND CHASING A FEW DOLLARS
MORE AFTER A 68 IN EL PASO OPEN
Former Scottish boys' open stroke play champion (at Downfield) and a winner on the PGA EuroPro Tour last year, Lee Rhind, pictured right, shot a second-round 68 to be sharing 26th place after two rounds of the Tight Lies Tour's El Paso Open at the Santa Teresa Country Club today.
Rhind bogeyed the third before birdieing the sixth, seventh, eighth and 11th. He stuttered again with a bogey at the 12th but finished well with birdies at the 14th and 18th.
Lee, who is still attached to Uphall Golf Club, West Lothian, has a temporary base at Midland, Texas.
The 27-year-old Scot has won $22,110 from seven events on the Tight Lies Tour. He has made the cut in all bar one of them.
The standard is very high on the Tight Lies Tour. Although Rhind is three under par after two rounds he is 10 shots behind the leader, American Scott Abbott who has scored 67 and 64 for 131.
In second place on135 is another American, Riochard Swift, with 65 and 70.
