EUROPEAN CHALLENGE TOUR
SCOTS NOT AT THE RACES IN SWEDEN
Andrew McArthur and Peter Whiteford finished well out of contention in the latest European Challenge Tour event in Sweden, the Telia Challenge Waxholm.
McArthur had scores of 73, 69, 69 and 74 for 285 which earned him 916 Euros.
Whiteford faded after a good start with rounds of 68, 73, 71 and 74 for 286 which put him in a share ofr 36th place. He earned 830 Euros.
The tournament was won by Argentian’s Rafael Echenique who birdied the last three holes to win by two shots from Martin Kaymer (Germany).
Echenique posted staggering total of 22-under-par 270 with scores of 65, 68, 66 and 71.
Kaymer finished on 272 with scores of 72, 67, 66 and 67.
Welshman Kyron Sullivan came third on 274 with 69, 68, 69 and 69.
Sam Walker, the Englishman who won the Scottish Challenge over Murcar Links, tied for fourth place with scores of 66, 68, 67 and 71 for 275.
