SCOTTISH AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

Sponsored by Allied Surveyors.
Hosted by Nairn Golf Club

FATHER AND SON PETER AND SCOTT
JAMIESON REACH LAST THIRTY-TWO

The seeded Craigmillar Park Open winner Scott Jamieson and his father, Peter, are both through to the last 32 of the Allied Surveyors Scottish men's amateur championship over the classic Nairn links.
Scott is in the first quarter of the draw, facing a fourth-round match against Chris Lawton (Stirling) on Thursday morning.
His "old man," Peter, is in the second quarter and will be very much the underdog as he gives away light years to 17-year-old Zack Saltman (Craigielaw), desperately unlucky not to win the Scottish Under-18 boys' open stroke-play championship at Alloa last week, in their Thursday
morning tie.
Three seeds have fallen by the wayside so far - Scott Hendry on Monday, George Murray on Tuesday and Keir McNicoll on Wednesday. McNicoll, the East of Scotland Open champion from Carnoustie lost by 2 and 1 to Wallace Booth, the 2004 Scottish youths champion from Comrie.
Wallace went on to teach the last 32 with a 2 and 1 win over Steven Hume (Murrayshall).
Aberdonian Terry Mathieson (Murcar Links), who reached the semi-finals at Western Gailes four years ago, is through to a fourth-round meeting with the cack-handed Scotland international John Gallagher (Swanston).
