CURTIS CUP POST MORTEM

FINAL RESULT:
UNITED STATES 11 1/2, GREAT BRITAIN & IRELAND 6 1/2

First day: US 7, GB&I 2 (Foursomes: 3-0, singles 4-2).

Second day: US 4 1/2. GB&I 4 1/2

Final foursomes: US 1/2, GB&I 2 1/2
Final singles: US 4, GB&I 2.

It was, in football parlance, a match of two halves. GB&I didn't win either half but after being trounced on the first day, they hit back to share the second-day honours. That can't be bad.

Log on now to www.kirkwoodgolf.co.uk and click on HOT NEWS for an in-depth interview with GB&I skipper Ada O'Sullivan and an interesting post-mortem article by an American writer, in which he poses the question: "Did GB&I pick the wrong players for Bandon Dunes?" You may agree or not agree with him but it is still interesting reading.

Meanwhile, keep logging on to www.scottishgolfview.com this week for news from the Scottish men's amateur championship at Nairn and any other male golf news.
