Matty Wilson from Forres finishes as leading Scottish boy in Peter McEvoy Trophy

By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Matty Wilson from Forres finished as the leading Scot in the Peter McEvoy Trophy U18 boys' tournament which was cut from its traditional 54-hole stroke play format to 36 holes because of the wet condition of the Copt Heath Golf Club course at Solihull in the English West Midlands.
Wilson had scores of 75 and 71 for a four-over-par total of of 146 and a share of 23rd place.
Callum Scott (Nairn), 75-75, and Jack Broun (Ayr Belleisle), also 75-75, were the next best Scots in the field of 72 competitors. They finished joint 44th.
England's Harrison Arnold (Castle Royle) won the prestigious title with a three-under-par total of 139 (72-67)
