East Alliance beat West Alliance 17-7 to win back Uniroyal Trophy at Troon
John Anderson, life member and past president of the East Alliance, receives the Uniroyal Trophy from Margaret Carrell, secretary of the West Alliance.

By ALAN GREENSHIELDS
Edinburgh and East of Scotland Alliance secretary
Tuesday saw the last event of the season for the East Alliance when they travelled to Troon Links and claimed back the Uniroyal Trophy from the West Alliance in the annual match that goes back to 1947.
East won comfortably by 17pts to seven.
In the morning foursomes, the East team gained a useful 5.5-2.5 lead over the Darley Course.
In the afternoon play at Lochgreen, the East took the singles 11.5-4.5 points for an overall 17-7 victory.
It was a testing day with wind and rain part of the challenge. Thanks go to all the players in playing their part in making sure this annual match was played in the usual friendly spirit. Thanks also go to Troon Links for the warm welcome provided.
