Back-to-back double bogey 6s see Craig Ross drop to sixth in Spain
By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Cambuslang's Craig Ross dropped to a share of sixth place in the Evolve Pro Tour's El Valle Open in the Murcia region of southeast Spain with a second-round 75 - six more shots than he required on the first day for a 36-hole tally of two-over-par 144.
Ross went off the rails with back-to-back double bogey 6s at the fourth and five and he made it five shots dropped over three holes when he also bogeyed the short sixth.
Birdies at the third, seventh, eighth and 17th helped to repair some, but not all of the "damage."
The Scot is now in joint sixth place, five shots behind the three men sharing the lead on three-under 139 - Ireland's Jonathan Caldwell (73-66), Eirik Tage Johansen (Norwayu) (73-69) and Spain's Jose Buenndia (69-72).
