LOCKE AND FYFE LEAD SCOTTISH CHALLENGE 

IN AFRICAN STROKE-PLAY

Scottish amateur champion Sam Locke from Stonehaven and Cawder's Calum Fyfe spearhead the Scottish challenge in the first round of the African amateur stroke-play championship over 72 holes at Glendower Golf Club.

Both men shot two-over-par 74s to be sharing 27th place overnight.
Locke, pictured, had a mixed bag of five birdies, five bogeys and a double bogey 6 at the fourth.
Fyfe also had a double bogey 6, but at the seventh. Highlight of his card was an eagle 3 at the 13th. He had two late birdie 2s, at the 14th and 17th.
Darren Howie (Peebles) is in joint 33rd place after a 75.
John Paterson (St Andrews New) is sharing 64th place in a field of 90 players after returning a six-over 78.
Frenchman Frederic LaCroix, who had a five-under 67, leads the field by two strokes from James Du Preez (South Africa).
