Scots MacIntyre and Davidson beaten in
Aussie semi-finals
Scots Robert MacIntyre from Oban and Melrose-born Karis Davidson both lost in the men's and women's semi-finals of the Australian amateur championships at Yarra Yarra Golf Club, Australia today (Sat).
Left-hander MacIntyre, the World No 10 male amateur, lost by 3 and 1 to West Australian Min Woo Lee who will play Matias Sanchez (Australia), a 19th hole winner in his semi-final, in Sunday's final.
Sanchez beat Kevin Yuan, who beat Welshman Evan Grifiths 5 and 3 in the quarter-finals.
Melrose-born Karis Davidson, 18, who has lived in Queensland since the Davidson family emigrated to Australia nine years ago, lost by one hole in the semi-finals to world No 4 female amateur Hye-Jin Choi, one of six South Koreans to make the last eight of the championship.
