World No. 1 amateur Jon Rahm turns pro

NEWS RELEASE
Jon Rahm, the world’s top-ranked amateur, is now officially a professional. The former Arizona State stand-out and two-time Hogan Award winner from Spain made the move after earning low-amateur honours with a T-23 finish at the U.S. Open.

“It’s a special moment being where I am and being this course and today the last day of my amateur career,” Rahm, pictured, said after his final-round, even-par 70 on Sunday at Oakmont.
Rahm, who signed with Lagardere Sports for management and marketing representation, will compete on a sponsor exemption this week at the Quicken Loans National at Congressional, his first event as a pro.
He has also received exemptions into the Barracuda Championship, Barbasol Championship, RBC Canadian Open, Travelers Championship and John Deere Classic.
