Irishman Shane Lowry leads US Open by four
with a round to go at Oakmont

Irishman Shane Lowry, pictured above by Getty Images(c), played four holes on Sunday morning (local time in Pittsburgh). Four very productive holes.
Birdies at the 15th and 17th holes, along with a par-saving putt at the 18th, allowed Lowry to extend his lead from two to four shots. He's now firmly in control of the U.S. Open as it finally gets back on schedule with the final round Sunday at Oakmont.
"I'm very excited," said Lowry after completing his 5-under 65. "Where in the world would you rather be than here?"
Lowry is four shots ahead of Andrew Landry (his playing partner in the final round) and Dustin Johnson. Lee Westwood and Daniel Summerhays are five shots back, with Branden Grace another shot behind.
Unless anybody else can produce a Johnny Miller-type of round, it's likely the winner will come from among those six players.
But it's clearly Lowry's show now thanks to his work this morning. How well were things going for him? He was playing for par on his chip from the rough at 17, mis-hit it slightly and saw it roll closer to the pin to set up a shorter birdie putt.
Having won the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational last year, Lowry knows he can beat a world-class field. But he also knows wearing the target on a final round at the U.S. Open will not be easy.
"I just have to go out and play my game," Lowry said. "I'm sure there are going to be little twists in the tale this afternoon. I'm expecting that."
