Three Lawries in the Scotscraig field: left to right: Sean, Paul and Craig.
Paul Lawrie wins at Scotscraig with
two-under-par 69
Paul Lawrie beat a field of Scottish pros by two shots with a fine round of two-under-par 69 in Monday's Big Johnson's Tour competition at Scotscraig Golf Club, Fife.
It was sponsored by the Paul Lawrie Foundation, Devel Golf and Golf Marker Systems.
On a surprisingly firm and fiery course, considering the rain there has been this past winter, Paul was two over par on the ninth tee after bogeys at the second and eighth. But the European Tour player covered his last 10 holes in four-under-par, thanks to an eagle 3 at the par-5 ninth and birdies at the 12th and 16th in halves of 35 and 34.
Tartan Tour campaigner Craig Ronald (Carluke) birdied three of the last four holes for a 71 and second place on his own.
Next event on the tour is at Irvine Bogside Golf Club, Ayrshire on June 6. Pros interested in playing should contact organiser John Henry at johnhenry92@hotmail.com
