European Tour start for winner of
Faldo Series Final in Brazil
PRESS RELEASE
The Faldo Series today announced that the winner of this year’s Faldo Series Grand Final will be offered an amateur invite to the 2009 Inteco Russian Open Golf Championship on the European Tour.
For the first time, the Faldo Series Grand Final will take place in Brazil this year, at the Costa Do Sauipe Golf Resort on October 25-31. Supported by the European Tour and The R&A, players from more than 15 countries worldwide will take part, including qualifiers from the inaugural Faldo Series Russia Championship, hosted earlier this year by AMS at Le Meridien Moscow Country Club.
In a further bid to help develop tomorrow’s champions, the leading male golfer from the Grand Final will now receive the chance to play alongside some of the best golfers on the European Tour at the 2009 Inteco Russian Open, also promoted by AMS.
Nick Faldo commented: “AMS has shown us great support, first by hosting the Faldo Series Russia Championship and now by offering this great opportunity for one of our players to get a taste of competing on the European Tour. This kind of experience is so important for the development of young amateurs with professional ambitions and I’m sure that it will stand them in great stead for the future.”
