McArthur and Ramsay finish well
but no Dutch treat for Scots

From Michael Gibbons, Challenge Tour Press Officer
Not even outstanding final rounds of five under par 67 and eight under par 64 could help Andrew McArthur and Richie Ramsay muscle into the business end of the leaderboard at the Dutch Futures presented by Royal Bank of Scotland today.
Both Scots made valiant attempts to barge their way into contention at the Golf Club Houtrak but it was too little too late as the irresistible duo of Denmark’s Jeppe Huldahl and Holland’s Taco Remkes turned the event into a two-horse race.
Respective final round scores of 65 and 66 left Huldahl and Remkes tied on 13 under par 265 aggregates before the Dutchman delighted his home crowd by producing a birdie 4 at the first extra play-off hole to secure his second victory of the season.
McArthur’s €1,820 cheque for his 17th place finish on eight under saw him climb one spot on the Challenge Tour Rankings into 24th place. The Scot has three events of the season remaining to break into the all-important top 20 to guarantee a European Tour card for next season.
Ramsay’s position of 11th on the Rankings after finishing one behind McArthur in 20th place, will be good enough for a card, but he will be looking to improve his position over the closing weeks of the season in order to maximise his playing opportunities on The European Tour next season.
Chris Doak, the Tartan Tour No 1, finished alongside Ramsay on seven under par at Golf Club Houtrak.
