Immelman has a late wobble
but wins The Masters by
three from Tiger

South African Trevor Immelman survived a late scare to win The Masters at Augusta National.
Operated on in December for a tumour on his diaphragm - to his huge relief it was found to be benign rather than cancerous - Immelman defied 25mph winds to win his first major title by a three-shot margin on Sunday.
"I can't believe I did it," he said. "It was just so tough and I was trying to be tough. I kept saying to myself 'Hang in there, one shot at a time.' There's a disaster round every corner."
And since it was Tiger Woods (72) who finished in second, 28-year-old Immelman became the man to thwart the world number one's stated aim of a Grand Slam this season.
Immelman was six shots clear and cruising with four holes to play and still five ahead on the 16th tee, but he then pulled into the water for a double bogey 5.
He hit his approach to the 17th into the guarding bunker but bravely got up and down, and despite unluckily finding a deep divot on the final fairway, Immelman tapped in for par to card a 75 for an eight-under-par aggregate of 280.
Americans Stewart Cink (72) and Brandt Snedeker (77), the latter reflecting on an amazing roller-coaster 77 containing an eagle, two birdies and no fewer than nine bogeys, finished tied for fourth at four-under.
Open champion Padraig Harrington (72) finished top European in joint fifth place at two-under with left-handers Phil Mickelson (72) and Steve Flesch (78), who played the last seven holes in six over.
Spain's Miguel Angel Jimenez carded a superb 68 to finish tied for eighth at one-under alongside Robert Karlsson (73) and Andres Romero (73), with Nick Watney (71), Lee Westwood (73) and Paul Casey (79) at level-par overall.
