EUROPE RETAIN MICHAEL BONALLACK
TROPHY AT VALDERRAMA

Scots Callum Macaulay and Wallace Booth were celebrating last night as Europe's amateurs retained the Michael Bonallack Trophy with victory over Asia-Pacific at Valderrama in Spain.
The defending champions, who led 13 1/2 - 6 1/2 heading into the final day's singles matches, edged the session 6 1/2 - 5 1/2 to ease to a 20-12 triumph overall.
Macaulay, last year's SGU No 1, went down by a hole to Japan's Yuki Ito in the top tie but former Scottish youths' champion Booth got Europe back on track with a 4 and 2 win over Quincy Quek of Singapore.
The Europeans picked up a further 5 1/2 points from the remaining 10 matches with Englishman Danny Willett showing the form that has taken him to the top of the world amateur rankings in a 7 and 5 demolition of former Australian champion, Rohan Blizard.
