Knox did drop shots at the second, 12th and 16th.
Scores of 143 and better qualified for the final round. That left two former Scotland amateur internationals, David Kirkpatrick from Edinburgh and Glasgow's Scott Jamieson, on the sidelines.
Kirkpatrick, a resident of Lakeland, Florida, dropped from tied ninth with a 68 to joint 50th and out with a second-round 77 which included a triple bogey 7 at the ninth and a double bogey 6 at the 10th. He also had bogeys at the 11th, 12th and 15th against birdies a the sixth, 13th and 14th.
Jamieson, who has had a very successful year as a rookie pro on the Hooters Tour, missed the cut by five shots with rounds of 75 and 73 for 148. He had double bogeys at the long fourth and par-4 16th but he did get an eagle 3 at the long sixth for the second day in a row. Scott also birdied the first, seventh, 10th and 13th - so very much a mixed bag of figures for Jamieson.
Matthew Burchert from Florida led the last-round qualifiers with a pair of 67s for 134.
