Scottish Junior Team Championship (SJTC)

 and Junior Nations Team Championship

(JNTC)

By GORDON MURRAY
Aberdeen and District Junior Pennant League representatives  qualify to participate in both competitions as follows:
The winners and runners-up of the League play in the Scottish area play-offs of the JNTC.
This year Cruden Bay will play at Strathlene and Portlethen will play at Cruden Bay. If they qualify they will play at Leven Links in the Scottish semi-final.
Last year Cruden Bay won the Scottish Area and qualified to play against teams from Wales and Ireland in Spain (Morgado). They finished fourth.  In previous years Deeside, Newmachar and Westhill have qualified to play in Spain.  There is an entry fee for this event.

The winners of the Off the Tee trophy qualify to play in the SJTC at Kilmarnock Barrassie on September. 28. Last year Aboyne were the representatives while Portlethen got an invitation as the host club and won the event and are getting an invitation to this year's event as 2108 winners.
Cruden Bay qualified in 2017 as league runners-up. There is no entry fee for this event. The original concept was for the winners of various leagues throughout Scotland to play. However, this has been extended to invite other clubs.

It should be noted that the winners of league and the winners of the Off the Tee qualified for the JNTC. The runners-up in the league qualified for the SJTC  until this year when it was changed to suit the new league program.

Both organisations started off with only winners of leagues etc but now they are trying to boost numbers by inviting clubs who have played in previous years.
