Robert MacIntyre three off the lead in Denmark Round two report Matthias Schwab stood up to everything Himmerland Golf and Spa Resort could throw at him and emerged with a one-shot lead heading into the weekend at Made in Denmark presented by FREJA. The Austrian was faced with cold, wet and windy conditions in Farsø but produced a stunning bogey free round of 66 to move to eight under par, continuing a consistent season that has produced two top tens from ten made cuts in 12 events, as he edges ever closer to a first victory in just his second season on the European Tour. The weather improved in the afternoon, although the wind was unrelenting, and Frenchman Romain Langasque matched Schwab’s bogey free 66 to get to seven under par and one shot off the lead alongside Spaniard Alejandro Cañizares. Scot Robert MacIntyre finished second in the Betfred British Masters two weeks ago and he continues to impress in his rookie season, battling to a one under par round of 70 to sit three shots off the lead alongside Spain's Alvaro Quiros and Austrian Bernd Wiesberger. Frenchman Adrien Saddier, Max Schmitt of Germany, Ireland’s Paul Dunne and Swede Alexander Björk are tied for seventh place on four under par. Player quotes Matthias Schwab: “It was very difficult, especially early on. It's always great to have a bogey free day, so overall it's been a good day. “I didn't really do anything different from yesterday or any other day. I was very in the zone. It was very cold, rainy, windy, I was just trying to stay warm. Maybe I didn't really worry too much about my game and it worked out well.  “I usually play OK on courses that are tougher than average on tour. I guess I'm a good wind player too. Really I'm just trying to do my own thing and see what comes out.” Alejandro Cañizares “I've been playing alright recently but I just haven't put a few rounds together because, well, that's golf. I'm comfortable now and I feel relaxed out there. I like the golf course and I'm putting well. "We got a little bit luckier than the morning groups. It wasn't raining but it was quite windy and cold. Some players are more comfortable than others in the wind. I fell even better than yesterday because I had some great pars, some great up and downs. It was a lovely round.  “It was something different today on 14. They had a Queen song playing and it was great, a lot of fun. I've never experienced that, walking through a tent where everyone is having food and drinks with loud music and having fun. It is a great initiative.”  Romain Langasque “It was a really good day. It was really tough at the start but the wind went down a bit so I got three birdies at the end. I had a lot of birdie chances and played really strong. “It fits my game well - with a bit of wind off the left, I play draw so I can go straight off every tee. I played really offensive, I used my driver a lot and I think that was key because I had a lot of wedges after that. I really like this course, especially with this kind of condition. I like the wind.” Robert Macintyre “It was tough, I had pouring rain for the first 14 holes. I was soaked right through. Just had to stick in and managed to get round in one under. “All through my amateur days it has been links golf and tough tests. It's something that I relish and glad to do the same today. “I've putted great. With the wind it's so tough to judge the pace.
