Calum (13) shows his title class - winner of

Scottish U16 title by four strokes

By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Calum Scott, at 13 years of age as exciting a prospect as his older brother Sandy was, chalked up the biggest win over his fledgling golf career by winning the Global Golf Post Scottish Under-16 boys' open stroke-play championship at the Kittocks course, Fairmont St Andrews today.
Last year, when only 12, Calum became the youngest ever winner of the North District boys' championship for the R P Bain Trophy.
Now he has mastered an international field by four strokes with a splendid aggregate of eight-under-pa276 with scores of 67, 71, 68 and 70 over the par-70 course.
After sharing the first-round lead with a French competitor, young Scott made every post a winning one, forging clear of the field and never looking like being caught.
Joint runners-up on 280 were Josh Greer (Australia) and Thomas Burou (France). Greer was born in Gourock but has spent the last few years in Australia after his family move there. He is on holiday "back home" in Scotland
The next best Scot to Calum and Josh was Christian Barbour (St Andrews New) in T5 position with steady rounds of 72, 67, 72 and 72.
Another Scot just outside the top ten was Aidan O'Hagan (Old Ranfurly) who shot scores of 74, 70, 70 and 73 for T12 position with a total of 287.
The only other Scots to make the last day were Callum Robinson (Turnhouse) who finished T32 on 293; Harry Austin (Dumfries and Co) and Cameron Black (Royal Aberdeen) both T35 on 294, and Dean Walsh (Lochgelly) 44th on 302.
