Southerness win Kirkcudbrightshire team title

The Kirkcudbrightshire Golfers Association team championship was held at Colvend on Monday when seven of the eight affiliated clubs competed in the event, with six players from each club. Conditions were excellent with a course in good condition and the weather dry and warm.

The winners were Southerness with a total of 294, Castle Douglas (297) were runners-up and Dalbeattie (301) third.

Scratch winner was Colin Heuchan (Southerness ) with a 69 and handicap winner James McWhir (Colvend) with a net 65 (better last six)
