McNicoll, Shields, Porter and Pintor advance


from Panmure to Open Final Qualifying

Keir McNicoll (Carnoustie), Paul Shields (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre), Spaniard Francisco Pintor and amateur Will Porter, the former Scottish boys' U18 champion from Carnoustie, were the four qualifiers for the Open Championship Final Qualifying event from today's Regional Qualifying 18-hole competition at Panmure Golf Club, Near Carnoustie.

McNicoll and Porter (pictured), a student at Chattanooga-Tennessee University,  headed the field with two-under-pars 68s,s a shot ahead of Shields, Pintor and another Spanish player, Daniel Alonso who gained 10th reserve place on a countback.
