Last-round slump costs Nick Robson Portuguese senior title double

By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Aberdeen businessman Nick Robson, joint winner of the Portuguese senior men's international pairs tournament at Estoril Golf Club, earlier in the week, failed in his bid to complete a title double by winning the individual competition at the same venue over the past three days.
After leading the field through the first 36 holes, Robson uncharacteristically slumped to a final round of 78 and finished fourth with a total of 220 after earlier scores of 70 and 72.
Robson finished four shots behind the winner, Welshman Clive Jones, who returned three rounds of 72 for a total of 216 and a two-stroke victory from runner-up George Wilson from England.
