Fraser Davren T6 with a round to play in

NJCAA National championship

Glasgow-born freshman Fraser Davren and the Eastern Florida State College men's golf team sit in fourth place heading into the final round of the NJCAA Men's Golf National Championship in Garden City, Kansas.
The Titans shot a 299 in the third round and struggled in the final few holes to fall into fourth by three strokes.
"Tough conditions today and we did not have enough balance with our scoring," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "Good rounds by Brad (Bawden) and Fraser (Davren). The others didn't play poorly but on this course in these conditions there was so little room for error."
Bawden and Davren, a freshman from Glasgow, both finished at even par for the day and are tied for sixth overall at 2-over. Bawden was 1-under after the first nine holes and was at 2-under until he faltered on the par 3 17th hole.
Davren almost birdied 17, hitting a chip to within inches of the cup and tapped in for a par. He shot 1-under on the back nine to finish with a 72.
Indian Hills Community College used a strong start to grab the lead by one stroke over Odessa College heading into the final round.
"Good news is we still have a round to play and this group has played well throughout the spring. If Indian Hills can make up 10 shots in one round, no reason we can't do the same tomorrow," Howell said.
