Murcar Links' men's team lost a grip on the Maitland Shield at Portlethen Golf Club this week but the club's senior quartet won the Senior Northern Counties Cup at Cruden Bay Golf Club today.
They were just a shade too good for Inverness in this morning's final, winning by a five-hole margin overall.
Mike Lornie and Alistair Fiddes finished five up on Laurie Chancellor and Peter Sinclair.
The second-string tie between Brian Holbrook and Derek Allan against Brian Fraser and Jim Elliot finished all square.

The difference between the winners and the losers was in the putting. From tee to green both matches were equal but Murcar Links putted that bit better than their opponents, knocking the long putts close and holing the crucial five-footers.

It was Murcar Links' second win in the Senior Northern Counties Cup which did not start until 2001.
Murcar Links' previous victory was in 2008.
Inverness have been one of the most successful teams in the tournament, having won the trophy in 2004, 2013 and 2015.
