Murray Naysmith finishes T41 at Bluffton,


South Carolina with scores of 75-77-81

Murray Naysmith, from Edinburgh, a freshman student at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, finished T41  and fourth of the five-strong UAB team competing in the Colleton River Collegiate tournament over a par-72 course of 7,169yd at Bluffton, South Carolina today.
Naysmith, pictured, had deteriorating scores of 75, 77 and 81 for a total of 17-over-par 233.
Strangely enough, only the winner, Charlie Netzel (Michigan State) seemed to improve his score over the final 18 holes. His scores were 73, 76 and 68 for a one-over total of 217 ... one stroke ahead of UAB's R J Keur (70-74-74).
Tim Harry (UAB), a sophomore from Glamorgan, shot 71-75-76 for 222 and a T8 final placing.
Team-mate Harry James, a final year student from Kidderminster, finished T34 with scores of 73, 77 and 80 for 230.
Michigan State (884) won the team title ahead of UAB (887) with Connecticut (897) third in a line-up of 11 teams and 72 players.
